| | Living in halls has been very different to what I have been used to back in Malaysia. I'm getting more and more comfortable here, but some things.. GRRRR
-People steal food. It's not so much the cost involved. It's just irritating. I don't mind if you take a bit of my milk. Or a slice of my cheese, But when my entire TUB (the big one, mind you) of unopened yogurt goes missing.. this is a grudge I will carry for a long long while, you horrible food-stealer. If you can afford to study and stay in London, you can very well afford to buy your own yogurt. Stay off mine!!!
-We cook. Yes, we have a big party of people, we have fun, we have a good, cheap meal. Then we clean up. It's not all spick and span, I admit. But we still clean up. We don't leave the kitchens in a "deplorable state", ok? Just because we cooked the night before, and the kitchen's messy the next morning, doesn't necessarily imply that we made the mess. How is it, that in your rush to point fingers, you neglect to realise that it's entirely possible that someone else came in after us and contributed to the mess? Hellooooo??
-The thin thin walls. Almost everything can be heard. Chat in the gardens, and the entire block of rooms facing the gardens can hear us. Argh.
-The heater that's switched on SPORADICALLY. I want to have the option to turn it on and off as and when I like, ok? It's like back in Malaysia, if, on a super hot spell, the air-cons turn on and off as and when they like. hurrrh.
Having said that, I still love love love my hall. I think it's the best hall ever. We get dinner six times a week, it's so new and cozy, and it's location is great too (two tube stations within 5 minutes walking distance). And yes, it's a 25 minites walk to school, but the exercise does come in handy. And it gives great value for money. So yeah, go Passfield!
